From Moshi, you’ll enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Lake Chala, or about 3 hours if you’re coming from Arusha. The route treats you to diverse landscapes, and it’s not uncommon to catch a little nap on the way, especially if you start early from Arusha.
Arriving at the beautiful Lake Chala Safari Camp, a peaceful private game reserve overlooking the lake, you’ll feel the calm wash over you as you step into the lush, green surroundings. The tranquil lake offers fantastic hiking trails, perfect for exploring the serene environment and spotting local wildlife like baboons, velvet monkeys, and maybe even an elephant!
After exploring the lake, you can take some time to relax, float around or stop at the local bar for a nice, cold beer (or a Konyagi). If you haven’t opted to camp at the Lake, we will drive back to Moshi/Arusha in the late afternoon.
